In New South Wales, members of the Blayney community have for years enjoyed all the benefits of the well-equipped CentrePoint Athletic & Leisure Centre.
Originally built around 1970, the centre includes a well-equipped gym, fitness classes and various sport and community activities. A major feature of CentrePoint has been one of the very few indoor pools in the area. The pool is home to the Blayney Dolphins Swim Club, as well as lessons, learn-to-swim programs, Aquafit, community swim time, family swims and more.
Approaching the winter of 2017, with the facility nearing 50 years old, pool problems had escalated to become more than just maintenance issues. With the unfixable failure of the pool area’s air handling system, along with various aspects of the facility no longer meeting current health standards, a major renovation of the aquatic facility was planned.
Throughout the summer of 2019/20 the facility was closed for a major refurbishment. Using Myrtha Pools RenovAction technology the existing 33m pool was reconfigured into a 25m lap pool and a separate Learn to Swim Pool. New access stairs were added along with a Pool Pod for disabled access. A toddlers splash pad was also included in the re-development.
Leading Edge Leisure worked in our role with Myrtha Pools in partnership with Swimplex aquatics to deliver this fantastic asset for the Blayney community.
